About the role
- Prepare and manage export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and customs declarations
- Ensure documentation complies with UK export laws and destination country regulations, including post-Brexit requirements
- Liaise with internal departments (production, warehouse, sales) to gather shipment details and coordinate dispatch
- Communicate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and regulatory bodies to ensure timely clearance and delivery
- Maintain accurate records of all export transactions for audit and compliance purposes
- Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve documentation-related issues
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the export and logistics function
Requirements
- Previous experience in export documentation within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong understanding of Incoterms, customs procedures, and international trade compliance
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of UK export regulations and EU/non-EU trade processes
- GCSEs or equivalent (minimum); further education in international trade, logistics, or business administration preferred
- Certification in export procedures or customs compliance is advantageous
