About the role

  • Design a proactive strategy that integrates the core tenants of the company’s global social responsibility pillars (belonging, philanthropy, supplier diversity, sustainability) and its global communications and brand strategy with the practical requirements of communities hosting DPR’s large-scale projects
  • Implement tools and processes to identify and address community concerns and/or grievances with a focus on effective dialogue
  • Actively collaborate with the Community Initiatives team including the Community Initiatives Leadership Group and local Community Initiatives Champs and their teams
  • Establish measurable, scalable KPIs that will allow us to monitor and adapt our approach ensuring that we’re bettering the communities where we build
  • Lead overall program scoping, budgets, and measurement; building repeatable playbooks and toolkits that enable replication and ongoing maintenance by local project representatives
  • Build and maintain a variety of relationships with national organizations whose membership represents a range of community interests (i.e. civic, environmental, vocational, industry, etc.)
  • Provide on the ground support for project owners and project leaders to stand up and manage multi-year engagement programs
  • Represent DPR alongside project leaders at community events, community meetings, open houses, and other forums to maintain an ongoing dialogue with residents
  • Collaborate and coordinate with all relevant groups inside DPR to balance program continuity with program impact

Requirements

  • 10+ years of community affairs, public affairs or public relations experience
  • Construction and/or high-tech industry experience a plus
  • Proven track record developing and implementing community engagement strategies in complex environments and rural areas
  • Able to build strong relationships both internally and externally, including with local government officials and business community representatives
  • Problem solver able to adapt to challenges and balance multiple initiatives
  • Confident spokesperson and adept crisis manager with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Highly proactive with diligent follow-through on commitments
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Willingness to work across multiple time zones and travel as needed
