About the role

  • Secure and validate automated driving functions using state-of-the-art virtual validation methods
  • Develop, implement, and operate a Software-in-the-Loop (SiL) toolchain for simulating and assessing complex self-driving systems
  • Work with the dSPACE toolchain (ModelDesk, VEOS, Aurelion) and Matlab/Simulink
  • Integrate sensor and vehicle dynamics models into virtual environments (dSPACE Aurelion/Unreal Engine) to create realistic testing conditions
  • Design and implement processes for validating SOTIF scenarios, including generation and evaluation of simulation-based test results
  • Create and enhance virtual maps from real-world data using ASAM standards (OpenDRIVE, OpenSCENARIO)
  • Optimize scenarios and simulations to identify edge cases and functional challenges, using tools like STEVE
  • Gain insights into development of standards and methods for simulation-based validation and certification of autonomous driving functions

Requirements

  • Completed degree in automotive engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, mechatronics, or comparable discipline
  • Several years of experience with SiL environments and virtual testing for automotive systems
  • Familiarity with dSPACE toolchain (VEOS, Aurelion, ModelDesk) and Matlab/Simulink
  • Experience with virtual validation tools (e.g., IPG CarMaker, Applied Intuition) is a plus
  • Understanding of sensor technology, actuation, and environmental models for autonomous driving
  • Knowledge of standards such as SOTIF (e.g., ISO 26262) and ASAM OpenDRIVE/OpenSCENARIO
  • Experience in scenario generation and management (e.g., STEVE)
  • Strong analytical skills and a structured approach
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in German and English, written and spoken
