About the role

Work in Expleo's Electronics & Embedded Systems business unit providing real-time embedded systems for safety-critical control systems
Design, develop and verify complex hardware and software test systems
Produce supporting documentation and validation evidence
Fault finding and root-cause analysis of issues with developed test equipment
Enhance legacy codebases with new features and perform rapid prototyping of new features and interfaces as required
Collaborate with clients on defence-related projects and follow model-based engineering practices

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
Proven experience working as a Software Engineer, developing software solutions for complex projects
Eligibility and willingness to obtain SC Clearance (Security Check Clearance)
Experience in embedded systems, developing test systems that interface directly with hardware
Expertise in C, C++, C#, Assembler (8051, 8086), Embedded Linux, VxWorks, Test Stand, DOORS, Rhapsody EA, Windchill and MBSE frameworks
Background in real-time systems and rapid prototyping
Proficient in SysML and UML and applying model-based systems/software engineering
Experience developing, maintaining and enhancing complex embedded systems and legacy codebases
Understanding of the full software development lifecycle and traceable software amendments
Desired: Automation, CI/DevOps, communications protocols (TFTP, Ethernet, RS232, RS422, RS485, Modbus, CAN, 1553), electronics measurement and debugging (DVM, oscilloscope, spectrum analyser)
Desired: Experience in UK Defence industry or defence-related projects, familiarity with additional languages and software testing/automation frameworks
