About the role
- Develop strategically targeted GPO downstream account specific business lines and implement organizational and territory plans
- Educate payors and influence prescribing decisions and perceptions of Insulet’s value and competitive position
- Serve as trusted business advisor to payor customers and earn acceptance of recommendations
- Develop detailed strategic plans aligned with organizational goals and maintain deep understanding of territory-related issues
- Partner with Sales and Sales Leadership to identify payer pull/push opportunities and use prescription volume to grow plan market share
- Address coverage, adoption, reducing cycle times, and account/market specific opportunities/challenges
- Maintain in-depth understanding of the Managed Care environment and diabetes disease and community
- Provide information to Managed Care, Contracting, Sales, and Sales Leadership teams and give feedback for decision making
- Establish relationships with key payer stakeholders and related influence groups to impact access to products
- Perform other duties as required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical and/or medical device sales and 3rd party reimbursement procedures
- Related business experience working with managed markets, formularies, third-party adjudication and managed markets (MCO, Hospital, Private Insurance)
- Experience calling on and developing relationships with key contacts in managed markets and third-party payors
- In-depth understanding of health insurance systems such as pharmacy UM, contracting and claims adjudication (Preferred)
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to prioritize and drive for results with an emphasis on quality
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate at multiple levels of an organization
- Ability to provide and analyze performance driven data
- Ability to organize and judge priorities
- Ability to generate and maintain accurate records
- Strong computer proficiency and experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Travel up to 50% as required
