About the role
- Protect the organization’s legal interests and ensure compliance with laws
- Represent the organization in situations involving its legal interests
- Responsible for subspecialties like contested matters and Office of Corporate Secretary
- Lead development projects and strategic initiatives that are complex and innovative
- Advise clients and partners on planning, executing and monitoring strategic projects and initiatives
- Identify, analyze and diagnose major issues and make recommendations to decision-making bodies
- Interpret laws and regulations, issue legal opinions, prepare and validate rules, standards, policies, procedures, forms and agreements
- Represent the organization in court: develop strategy, draft pleadings, prepare witnesses, deliver oral arguments and negotiate
- Develop and update policies, standards, models and programs to support unit’s strategic projects
- Represent unit before decision-making bodies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- A minimum of eight years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of French is required
- Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
