About the role
- Own and manage full-cycle recruiting across all departments, including job postings, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and offer execution, ensuring a consistent and high-quality hiring process.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all HR-related matters, supporting employees and managers with questions, guidance, and issue resolution across multiple companies and states.
- Manage the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, training coordination, promotions, transfers, and terminations, ensuring all documentation, systems, and processes are accurate and compliant.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce HR policies, procedures, and best practices, ensuring alignment with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Lead employee relations efforts, including conflict resolution, investigations, performance management, and coaching managers through complex situations.
- Support and administer compensation programs, including compensation benchmarking and pay alignment analysis, ensuring competitive and consistent pay practices.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and employee education, while coordinating with brokers and vendors.
- Partner with payroll and finance to ensure accurate employee data, pay changes, and deductions, supporting overall payroll accuracy and compliance.
- Manage compliance initiatives, including workers’ compensation, safety programs, required reporting, and recordkeeping across multiple states.
- Drive and support employee engagement, culture initiatives, and company events that reinforce company values and a positive employee experience.
- Continuously improve HR systems, processes, and tools to increase efficiency, consistency, and scalability across the organization.
Requirements
- Strong, well-rounded knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Proven ability to independently manage all aspects of HR in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with HRIS, ATS, payroll, and benefits administration systems (BambooHR and ADP Workforce now preferred)
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex situations
- High level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information
- Ability to prioritize, adapt, and manage competing priorities effectively
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- 3+ years of progressive HR experience with broad exposure to multiple HR functions
- Experience operating in a standalone HR or “HR department of one” environment strongly preferred
- Experience supporting multi-state or multi-entity organizations preferred
