  • Own exception resolution — Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies, transactional anomalies, and regulatory issues, partnering with processors, banks, and internal teams.
  • Spot the signal in the noise — Analyze recurring issues, identify root causes, and turn insights into actionable improvements.
  • Level up the platform — Partner with Engineering, Product, Compliance, and Risk to implement automation, close process gaps, and deliver system enhancements.
  • Build trust with partners — Strengthen operational relationships with third-party processors and banks to accelerate resolution times.
  • Show the impact — Present dashboards, KPIs, and recommendations to leadership, linking your work to member experience and company OKRs.
  • Codify best practices — Develop playbooks, process documentation, and onboarding resources to ensure consistent, scalable operations.

Requirements

  • Operational expertise — 4+ years in exception management, reconciliation, or transaction operations within fintech, banking, or payments, with a track record of resolving complex issues quickly and accurately.
  • Analytical problem-solving — Ability to dig into data, connect the dots, and uncover root causes—then design solutions that prevent recurrence.
  • Cross-functional influence — Experience navigating competing priorities across engineering, product, compliance, and external partners to deliver results.
  • Process improvement mindset — Proven ability to streamline workflows, reduce cycle times, and leverage automation or tooling to scale impact.
  • Regulatory and industry fluency — Familiarity with payment networks, facilitators, and financial regulations, with curiosity to stay ahead of emerging trends.
  • High ownership mentality — A bias for action, comfort with ambiguity, and commitment to following through until the work is done—and done well.
