About the role
- Build services and APIs that power Datadog Dashboards and shared capabilities
- Work closely with product management to envision, facilitate and deliver new product offerings
- Identify opportunities, research technologies, and bootstrap initiatives
- Lead development of high-priority, high-visibility product capabilities such as NLQ Dashboard Generation and Search
- Lead the development and growth of key services, APIs and user experiences that power Dashboards
- Provide technical oversight and leadership across organizational boundaries
- Mentor and grow engineers on the team and beyond
- Contribute to initiatives including AI-powered capabilities, API schema versioning, and breaking up monolithic architecture to increase developer velocity
Requirements
- BS/MS/PhD in a scientific field or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of relevant engineering experience
- Several years of experience leading cross-team initiatives in a platform or infrastructure-focused environment
- Product delivery oriented mindset and strong customer empathy
- Experience leading the design and delivery of industry-leading systems
- Ability to mentor and grow engineers and provide technical oversight across organizational boundaries
