About the role

  • Lead and expand federal government healthcare staffing practice for clinical and non-clinical professionals.
  • Identify, develop, and secure new federal contracts across agencies including VA, DoD, HHS, IHS, and correctional health.
  • Develop and execute targeted growth strategy for full-time, locum tenens, and allied professionals.
  • Build and manage pipeline of opportunities and qualify via market research and procurement portals (SAM.gov, eBuy, GSA).
  • Establish and maintain relationships with federal contracting officers, program managers, and teaming partners.
  • Lead capture strategies, teaming arrangements, bid strategies, and proposal development.
  • Position the company on key federal contract vehicles (GSA Schedule, IDIQs, BPAs) and build teaming partnerships.
  • Coordinate with recruiting and operations to ensure readiness for contract execution and present pipeline updates to leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 7–10+ years of federal business development experience; at least 3–5 years in healthcare staffing.
  • Proven success securing federal staffing contracts (VA, DoD, HHS, BOP, etc.).
  • Knowledge of federal procurement processes, FAR/DFARS, and contract types (IDIQ, BPA, T&M, FFP).
  • Strong understanding of federal healthcare staffing requirements and compliance.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to navigate federal procurement systems (SAM.gov, FPDS, GSA eBuy, etc.).
  • High-level negotiation, capture management, and teaming expertise.
  • Self-motivated, deadline-driven, and results-oriented mindset.
  • Existing relationships with contracting officers or program managers at VA, DoD, or similar.
  • Experience working with or for an SDVOSB, 8(a), or other certified small business.
  • Familiarity with staffing categories including nurses, physicians, behavioral health, and allied professionals.
