About the role

  • Travel within the sales territory to conduct face-to-face meetings with existing and potential customers consistently
  • Drive revenue by developing new customer relationships and increasing business
  • Cultivate and maintain long-lasting relationships with customers
  • Maintain accurate records of leads, prospects, customer accounts, and sales
  • Monitor industry competitors and market conditions to understand customer requirements
  • Collaborate with team members to build, maintain, and expand brand presence
  • Stay informed about industry trends, company products, and solutions
  • Provide oversight of Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs
  • Review inventory trends, forecasts, and historical demand, and coordinate with Inventory Control Analysts and Inside Sales to set appropriate replenishment levels
  • Identify and resolve inventory, billing, and delivery discrepancies to ensure customer satisfaction and operational accuracy
  • Track, manage, and report key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Coordinate and support capital project material needs and delivery schedules with Irby warehouse operations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Proven outside sales experience (3+ years)
  • Strong consultative and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organizational and presentation abilities
  • Effective communication and exceptional customer service skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
