About the role
- Travel within the sales territory to conduct face-to-face meetings with existing and potential customers consistently
- Drive revenue by developing new customer relationships and increasing business
- Cultivate and maintain long-lasting relationships with customers
- Maintain accurate records of leads, prospects, customer accounts, and sales
- Monitor industry competitors and market conditions to understand customer requirements
- Collaborate with team members to build, maintain, and expand brand presence
- Stay informed about industry trends, company products, and solutions
- Provide oversight of Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs
- Review inventory trends, forecasts, and historical demand, and coordinate with Inventory Control Analysts and Inside Sales to set appropriate replenishment levels
- Identify and resolve inventory, billing, and delivery discrepancies to ensure customer satisfaction and operational accuracy
- Track, manage, and report key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Coordinate and support capital project material needs and delivery schedules with Irby warehouse operations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Proven outside sales experience (3+ years)
- Strong consultative and negotiation skills
- Excellent organizational and presentation abilities
- Effective communication and exceptional customer service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel
