About the role
- Ensure proactive management of employee benefits programs (health, dental, life insurance, and disability) to deliver a seamless employee experience.
- Lead coordination of short- and long-term disability cases, working closely with external carriers and healthcare professionals.
- Act as a subject-matter advisor, informing and supporting employees and managers on benefits and disability processes.
- Maintain accurate records of claims, absences, and communications using HRIS and external provider systems.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Identify opportunities to modernize and streamline benefits-related processes.
- Collaborate with payroll and finance teams.
- Prepare reports and analyses to support decision-making related to benefits utilization and disability trends.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits administration and disability case management
- Strong knowledge of Canadian employment legislation and disability case management practices, including CNESST (Quebec)
- Experience with Medavie Blue Cross is considered an asset
- Experience in a multi-site or multi-province environment is considered an asset
- Proficient with HRIS platforms and benefits administration systems
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and empathy
- Strong relationship-building skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both French and English
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to manage multiple cases simultaneously
- Strong analytical skills and critical thinking
- Available for occasional travel (approximately 5% of the time).
