About the role
- Utilize assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation to engage, educate and influence member health decisions
- Provide telephone-based information and decision support via the 24-Hour Nurse Line
- Facilitate effective health care decision-making and appropriate use of health care resources
- Improve quality of care and member satisfaction with their health care plan
- Provide up-to-date health information, clarify options, and make referrals to health and wellness programs
- Promote healthy lifestyles to lower personal health risks and prevent illness
- Assist members to actively participate with their providers in health care decision-making
- Schedule: 8-hour shifts, start between 4:00PM-12:30AM EST; every other weekend and 4 holidays/year
Requirements
- Active unrestricted RN compact state licensure (must reside in a Nurse Compact State)
- RN licensure in the state of office location
- 3+ years of clinical experience (Disease Management, Emergency Room, Critical Care, Medical/Surgical, Oncology)
- 1 year proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook and Word)
- Proficient keyboarding skills
- Telephone experience in nursing (telephone triage, ER, and/or urgent care)
- Self-motivated; strong communication skills
- Willingness to work every other weekend and 4 holidays per year
- Able to complete 6 weeks Mon-Fri orientation on a variable daytime schedule
- Hours start between 4:00PM-12:30AM EST; 8-hour shifts
