About the role
- Serve as Financial Management Advisor mentoring SMEs under the SHARE project to improve financial management and growth
- Train SME staff in simple financial and basic accounting
- Work with SME staff to develop financial processes for budgeting and managing expenditure
- Coach and mentor SIDO staff to improve business support services
- Develop tools and training materials with SIDO staff for business development services
- Establish mentor-mentee relationships with local SMEs and introduce SIDO and the SHARE team
- Provide guidance to SMEs in food processing and natural resource product production to support expansion
- Collaborate with Mwanza project partners, TCCIA, TWCC, SIDO and EMMAC and report to SHARE project team
- Participate in pre-placement training and in-country orientation; follow Cuso International policies and codes of conduct
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field
- English Level 5 - Fluent
- Eligibility: Open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents of Canada only
- 3–5 years’ work experience in developing financial management systems
- Ability to formulate and implement financial regulations, policies and procedures
- Good experience in establishing and supporting organization development
- Facilitation and training skills; experience in developing and delivering workshops
- Provide 2 Professional References and 1 Personal Reference if shortlisted
- Confirm Passport or Permanent Resident details for travel purposes
- Complete a language assessment during preliminary telephone interview
- Obtain a satisfactory Police Check
- Complete a medical exam and be medically cleared before departure
- Be double vaccinated (WHO-approved vaccines)
