About the role
- Lead with authority and clarity, guiding Product Design Technicians and prioritizing work effectively.
- Apply specialized design knowledge to elevate product quality by creating and maintaining specifications.
- Ensure drawing and model integrity from concept to release, participating in Drawing Quality Reviews.
- Mentor and train designers across experience levels by sharing knowledge and reinforcing best practices.
- Create assemblies and concept models that ensure fit and function, integrating seamlessly with engineering.
- Analyze and validate designs using cutting-edge tools to reduce errors and improve performance.
- Evaluate engineering risks to strengthen product reliability through structured methods like FMEA.
Requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Project management and time management
- Technical writing and communication (clear documentation and reporting)
- Stakeholder management and cross-functional teamwork
- Ability to write technical reports, present findings, and communicate with suppliers/customers in business settings.
- Experience with measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, CMMs).
- Teardown, assembly/disassembly, and inspection of mechanical components.
- Drafting/GD&T skills
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes (machining, casting, welding, forming, etc.)
- Practical troubleshooting of equipment, test rigs, or prototypes
