About the role

  • Partner with LATAM Country Heads and Head of Development to bring our LATAM greenfield development pipeline to FNTP on time and in line with base case, focusing on offtake, procurement/service contracts and project finance
  • Work with the Global Head of O&E to develop and implement the investment strategy for the Mexican market, which complements the ongoing development activities
  • Execute approved deals flawlessly to deliver business case
  • Lead and nurture the LATAM origination and execution team (located in Mexico, Colombia & Uruguay)
  • Hire and train new employees
  • Liaise with the Head of Development, Mexico and functional teams to ensure proper resourcing of the origination and execution activity in Mexico, Uruguay & Colombia
  • Partner with LatAm Country Heads to Refinance portfolios
  • Manage sale down of minority stakes in assets or portfolios
  • Prepare and defend deals in Investment Committees and support in Board Investment Committee
  • Allocate deal flow efficiently to respond to the changing demands of the business
  • Ensure proper evaluation of new opportunities and the timely reporting of progress
  • Participate in Cubico's LATAM Leadership discussions providing a holistic view of the business

Requirements

  • Experience in renewable energy deal origination and execution in LATAM (with particular focus on Mexico), including financial analysis and project financing
  • Fluent English & Spanish (verbal & written)
  • Experience and ability to develop junior team members
  • Good understanding of key drivers of an investment decision and how to optimise return
  • Good knowledge of the risks and pitfalls of projects at different stages in the lifecycle and a rounded view of the various issues that can impact a project
