Travel occasionally to clinic in Hickory, NC and work from home (WFH flexible)
Articulate lessons learned from personal life experiences with social/emotional, developmental, behavioral, substance abuse or mental health challenges
Provide mentor support, encourage leadership, and promote comradery
Build relationships and respect with family members, natural support, community partners and key stakeholders
Develop a working understanding of the young person’s desires, goals, interests, and strengths
Assist youth with identifying goals and developing an action plan to achieve these goals
Help youth navigate systems across several domains focusing on personal effectiveness, wellbeing, and life/community functioning
Teach problem solving and decision-making skills to enhance social responsibility and accountability
Build support networks and identify individuals/groups that provide advocacy, encouragement, and safety net
Enhance social and life skills to promote self-sufficiency, confidence, and self-determination
Attend weekly supervision to monitor adherence to High Fidelity Wraparound (HFW) principles
Requirements
Must possess degree at time of application (Bachelor's, Associate's) when applicable
Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Human Services) OR equivalent experience
Bachelor applicants: Must have one-year, post-graduation, working with target population
Associate applicants: Must have two years, post-graduation, working children/adolescents/transition age youth
High School applicants: Must have diploma or GED at time of application
High School applicants: Must have a minimum of four years of experience working children/adolescents/transition age youth
Must have lived experience with mental health or substance abuse challenges
Experience in navigating child and family serving systems (child welfare, education, behavioral/mental health, juvenile justice, school, primary care, etc.)
LIFT Experience Certification in Peer Support strongly preferred
Family Peer Support certified in High Fidelity HFW or must complete certification within one year of hire
Minimum of one-year experience providing services for the target population
Over 21 years of age and under 33 years of age
Possess a current, valid driver’s license and automobile with proof of auto insurance
Will complete all appropriate Federal and State background checks
Will maintain strict confidentiality according to all Federal and State guidelines and requirements
