About the role
- Design, deploy, and maintain the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency’s cloud TAK Server environments.
- Assist with planning and execution of network and server environment upgrades and expansions.
- Collaborate with the Agency’s engineering and technical staff to ensure seamless integration of hardware, software, and firmware across an array of network solutions.
- Responsible for installation, configuration, operation and maintenance of cloud infrastructure, software, and related capabilities.
- Configure and manage operating systems (Windows and Linux), applications (commercial and government), networks (IPs, subnets, etc.), and network hardware.
- Configure and manage distributed authentication services.
- Ensure system hardware, operating systems, software systems and related procedures adhere to government policies.
- Assist the government in creating and maintaining network security policies, standards, and monitoring capabilities.
- Implement and maintain backup operations, disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Manage cloud-based services such as DNS, digital certificates, storage solutions including SAN and NAS, IP based video, phone services and camera services, and network connected end user workstations.
- Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades and resource optimization, as required.
- Provide remote technical assistance 24/7 as a member of a 5-person team across 3 shifts.
- Provide SME support for managing the Agency’s TAK Servers remotely and federating TAK networks with other federal agencies, including MANET, TDL, and tactical radio systems.
Requirements
- Location: This position is remote. However, occasional travel will be required to support business needs, including client engagements, team collaboration, training sessions, or field operations.
- Minimum of 2 years managing and maintaining Tactical Assault Kit (TAK) Server capabilities in operational environments.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience managing Linux-based servers in hybrid cloud environments.
- Must hold a current CompTIA Security+ (Sec+)
- Strong technical curiosity and a proactive, security-first mindset.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience supporting the administration, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of tactical communications hardware and systems.
- Ability to implement and maintain equipment in operational environments with minimal supervision.
- Must have an active U.S. government Secret security clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Beneficial: Associate’s degree in information systems.

- Beneficial: Prior experience migrating from on-prem to cloud environments.
