About the role
- Create and implement automated configuration and deployment processes to enhance the performance, accessibility, and ease of management of the platform and its related services.
- Establish and manage administrator and service accounts, while also maintaining accurate system documentation and effectively resolving technical issues.
- Utilize scripting tools to craft self-service capabilities within the Platform as a Service (PaaS), fostering a seamless developer experience for development teams.
- Collaborate closely with developers to diagnose and troubleshoot problems, ensuring smooth operations.
- Take on the operational responsibility for the services under your team's ownership.
- Design and implement solutions for large-volume, long-term cold data storage, including Tier 2 on-prem to Tier 3 cloud migrations, with large capacity expectations.
- Integrate with existing and emerging data lakes by establishing and managing Authorizations to Connect (ATCs).
- Support mission data access, archive, and playback solutions in collaboration with partners ensuring program alignment and modernization baselines.
- Engineer resilient, secure, multi-site cold storage solutions at Secret-level classification, optimized for infrequent access and data older than one year.

Requirements
- A background of 6-10 years in cloud/platform operations or related roles across diverse environments
- Hands-on experience with large-scale cold data storage systems (MDL/UDL preferred), archive tiering, and long-term data lifecycle management
- Knowledge of secure data connectivity and ATC processes for classified environments
- Proficiency in administering AWS and/or Azure Gov Cloud environments
- Expertise in container orchestration, specifically Kubernetes
- Proficient use of Infrastructure as Code (IAC) tools, with a focus on Terraform.
- Subject Matter Expertise in Linux Operating Systems administration
- Skilled in developing automation solutions using scripting languages to streamline recurring tasks
- Familiarity with networking concepts and practical experience involving technologies like Load Balancers, DNS, SSL, Firewalls, NAT, and NTP
- Proven ability to troubleshoot operating systems and applications effectively
- Experience handling large-scale production systems and adeptness in resolving production-related challenges
- Excellent communication skills, and a keen interest in collaborative work environments.

- A degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Active Secret Security Clearance (Must Have)
