About the role
- The Operational Engineer II plays a critical role in ensuring operational excellence across complex systems and applications.
- This position partners closely with Software Development and Platform teams to design, implement, and maintain highly reliable, scalable, and secure solutions.
- Lead operational readiness for software releases, ensuring systems meet reliability and performance standards before production deployment.
- Architect and implement automation solutions to eliminate manual processes, enhance system resilience, and accelerate delivery pipelines.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for high-severity incidents, driving permanent fixes and preventive measures.
- Optimize infrastructure and application performance through data-driven analysis and capacity planning.
- Collaborate across engineering, network, and platform teams to design and implement robust operational strategies.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Drive adoption of DevOps practices, including CI/CD, test-driven development, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for configurations, operational workflows, and incident management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 4+ years of experience in operational engineering or similar roles.
- Expertise in F5 LTM/GTM (BIG-IP) administration and optimization.
- Strong proficiency in automation and scripting (Python, Ansible, Bash; .NET/C# preferred).
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, networking, and application performance tuning.
- Proven ability to design scalable solutions and lead complex operational initiatives.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical teams.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying ahead of emerging technologies.
- Willingness to work in shifts.
