About the role

Lead Platform Squads covering Core Platform, Core Data (including blockchain integrations), Developer Experience, and DevOps
80% management, 20% hands-on contribution
Manage and mentor ~20 engineers and engineering leads across squads
Build collaborative, inclusive team culture and ensure alignment with company objectives
Own and refine team processes; facilitate agile ceremonies and manage tasks in JIRA
Collaborate with stakeholders to define roadmaps, timelines, and deliverables
Drive technical vision and roadmap for platform, data pipelines, DevEx, and DevOps
Ensure delivery of scalable, reliable data pipelines and blockchain integrations
Partner with product managers and other stakeholders to align platform goals with business priorities
Define and implement processes to ensure high-quality, on-time delivery and monitor performance metrics
Ensure platform compliance with security, compliance, and scalability requirements

10+ years of experience in software engineering
At least 5 years working as a backend engineer
3+ years in a senior leadership role managing multiple teams or squads
Proven experience managing ~15 engineers within a 50+ engineer organisation
Strong technical background in system architecture, data engineering, and infrastructure management
Proven ability to manage tasks using JIRA and define/manage roadmaps
Deep understanding and application of agile methodologies, including Scrum
Ability to monitor and improve team performance using KPIs (velocity, throughput, cycle time)
Familiarity with scalable architecture patterns, microservices, and distributed systems
Hands-on experience with data pipeline technologies, APIs, and DevOps tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform)
Solid understanding of CI/CD processes, cloud-native tools, and developer productivity enhancements
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Experience driving cultural change and promoting a growth mindset
Exceptional analytical and decision-making skills
