About the role

  • Pricing Strategy & Architecture: Own the end-to-end pricing architecture for Crusoe Cloud. Architect dynamic frameworks that balance market share capture with long-term profitability, constantly iterating to stay ahead in a hyper-competitive market.
  • Cloud Economics & Unit Economics Analysis: Build and maintain models that analyze cost structures across compute, storage, networking, and energy. Identify levers to improve margins while maintaining price competitiveness. Track and report on key unit economics metrics.
  • Deal Economics & Sales Enablement: Arm the Sales team with high-impact ROI tools and economic arguments that win deals. Directly intervene in complex, high-stakes negotiations to structure custom terms that maximize Total Contract Value (TCV) while protecting the bottom line.
  • Market & Competitive Intelligence: Obsessively track the evolving cloud landscape. Go beyond standard research to predict competitor moves and synthesize deep intelligence into urgent, actionable pivots for leadership.
  • Product Strategy & Roadmap Influence: Translate economic insights into product strategy recommendations. Identify new product opportunities, packaging strategies, and feature prioritization based on rigorous analysis across our vertical integration strategy.
  • Customer Segmentation & Value-Based Pricing: Develop customer segmentation frameworks and tailor pricing strategies to maximize value capture across segments and compute delivery models.
  • Executive Communication: Distill complex, multi-variable analyses into clear, boardroom-ready narratives. Drive executive decision-making with data-backed conviction and clarity.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering to understand infrastructure costs, with Finance on P&L implications, with Marketing on positioning, and with Sales on customer feedback and competitive dynamics. Act as the glue that ensures economic reality informs technical and commercial decisions.

Requirements

  • First-Principles Thinking: You reject "how it's always been done" in favor of deconstructing problems to their fundamental truths. You build solutions based on logic and structural reality, not by analogy or copying competitors.
  • Radical Clarity of Thought: You possess the ability to distill complex, messy information into clear, logical narratives. Whether writing a memo or speaking to leadership, you bring order to chaos and precision to ambiguity.
  • High Agency & Relentless Drive: You do not wait for permission or perfect instructions. You see gaps and fill them. You possess a bias for action and the grit to drive work independently, pushing through walls to deliver outcomes.
  • Low Ego, High Truth: You are obsessed with finding the *best* answer, not *your* answer. You detach your identity from your ideas, inviting challenges and changing your mind quickly when data proves you wrong.
  • Empathetic Collaboration: You understand that great work happens in teams. You operate with kindness and empathy, lifting others up even while navigating high-pressure, fast-paced environments. You are non-defensive and absorb constructive feedback —viewing direct challenge as a necessary mechanism for rapid improvement.
  • Slope Over Intercept: We value your rate of learning over your current knowledge base. You are intellectually curious, absorb new concepts rapidly, and are constantly seeking mastery over new domains.
