About the role
- Perform full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and file sales tax returns in compliance with state and local regulations.
- Manage and prepare Form 1099s and related reporting requirements.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with payroll processing and related compliance reporting as needed.
- Generate financial statements and management reports for clients.
- Collaborate with tax and audit teams to ensure accurate year-end reporting.
- Communicate with clients to gather information, resolve discrepancies, and provide ongoing support.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within a CPA or public accounting firm.
- Strong knowledge of sales tax filings and 1099 preparation.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, or similar).
- Strong Excel and general computer skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong communication and client service skills.
- Experience working in a CPA firm or multi-client environment (preferred).
- Knowledge of UltraTax or similar tax preparation software (a plus).
- Bilingual in Spanish/English (a plus).
