About the role

  • Perform full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and file sales tax returns in compliance with state and local regulations.
  • Manage and prepare Form 1099s and related reporting requirements.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card accounts, and general ledger accounts.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with payroll processing and related compliance reporting as needed.
  • Generate financial statements and management reports for clients.
  • Collaborate with tax and audit teams to ensure accurate year-end reporting.
  • Communicate with clients to gather information, resolve discrepancies, and provide ongoing support.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within a CPA or public accounting firm.
  • Strong knowledge of sales tax filings and 1099 preparation.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, or similar).
  • Strong Excel and general computer skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and client service skills.
  • Experience working in a CPA firm or multi-client environment (preferred).
  • Knowledge of UltraTax or similar tax preparation software (a plus).
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English (a plus).
