About the role

  • Manage and mentor a team of data engineers, ML engineers, and knowledge engineers in India.
  • Coordinate delivery with US-based technical leadership across time zones.
  • Drive hiring and onboarding as the India team scales.
  • Own sprint planning, delivery cadence, and progress reporting.
  • Ensure technical quality through code reviews, architecture discussions, and engineering standards.
  • Collaborate with the Principal Architect and ML Engineering Lead on technical direction.
  • Remove blockers, manage cross-team dependencies, and ensure smooth collaboration.
  • Contribute to data architecture and pipeline design decisions.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 4+ years in engineering management.
  • Strong background in data engineering: Spark/PySpark, ETL pipelines, data quality frameworks.
  • Experience managing distributed teams across time zones (US-India coordination preferred).
  • Track record building and scaling engineering teams in a B2B SaaS environment.
  • Understanding of ML/AI systems and data preparation for model training is a strong plus.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery practices.
  • Strong communication skills across geographies.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
