About the role

  • Track and analyze international laws affecting HR practices and business operations, advising management and global teams on necessary adjustments
  • Own the U.S. immigration program, ensuring activities comply with U.S. immigration laws and aligning global practices
  • Contribute to development of global HR policies to ensure compliance with U.S. and international legislation (EEO, FMLA, FLSA, etc.)
  • Collaborate with HR teams and legal advisors across regions to create operational policies and provide strategic guidance
  • Effectively communicate compliance policies to internal teams and stakeholders
  • Identify, analyze, and address compliance issues and risks within HR practices, developing mitigation strategies
  • Manage multiple compliance-related tasks simultaneously, meeting deadlines with attention to detail
  • Lead and manage execution of global HR audits, ensuring compliance records and practices are up-to-date
  • Prepare and submit required compliance reports (e.g., EEO-1, affirmative action plans)
  • Research and monitor changes in U.S. employment laws, advising management and HR teams on policy changes
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all compliance-related activities for audits
  • Provide input and advice on HR decisions and practices across regions to ensure legal alignment
  • Collaborate with external vendors, legal advisors, and cross-functional departments to align compliance efforts
  • Travel domestically up to 30% to various Cook locations as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field required
  • Master's or JD degree preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in human resources or compliance roles
  • In-depth knowledge of labor laws, regulations, and compliance standards (EEO, FLSA, OSHA, OFCCP, and others)
  • Proficiency in HR information systems (HRIS) and data analysis tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Professional certifications preferred (Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) or SHRM certifications)
  • Ability to travel domestic and international as required (up to 30%)
  • Ability to work occasional early morning or late evening teleconferences
  • Works under general office environmental conditions; sitting for extended periods and close visual acuity for computer work
