PROJECT COST CONTROLLER will be a strategic partner for the North America Business.
The role will encompass providing insightful financial guidance on both project-based and after sales activities, including identifying and alerting stakeholders to potential risks and opportunities, actively participating in finance-related improvements to enhance efficiency.
You will be pivotal in driving margin analysis and cost reporting for projects, while interfacing with cross-functional stakeholders.
Revenue & Margin Management:
Ensure completeness and accuracy of monthly revenue and cost recognition for both projects and after sales.
Compile and analyze monthly sales and margin reports, supporting month-end and year-end close activities.
Conduct detailed margin analysis and report findings to management.
Project & Cost Controlling:
Support multiple mid-sized or large-scale projects with cost tracking, forecasting, and profitability analysis.
Partner with PMO or Technical Supervisors to investigate project variances and cost overruns.
Support Sales team in the early stages of the project
Recommend corrective actions — whether internal efficiency improvements or recoverable change orders — and coordinate with Sales and PMO for resolution.
Support timely billing by ensuring project documentation is complete and up-to-date.
Work with HR and I&S to ensure consistent labor tracking and timesheet compliance across the organization.
Project Lifecycle Support:
Monitor and manage un-billed revenue issues, collaborating with PMs to align on contract status, change orders, and billing milestones.
Help implement and enforce billing procedures and timelines, ensuring Finance receives accurate inputs from the PMO.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
5–7 years of relevant experience in accounting, project controlling, and margin analysis.
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and project-based revenue recognition.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Experience with SAP.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams under tight deadlines.
Independent and analytical thinker who can translate financial data into actionable insights.
