About the role
- Support and execute royalty compliance audits for clients in the music industry, including record labels, music publishers, and digital streaming services, across all phases of the audit process from planning and fieldwork to reporting.
- Interpret music industry contracts and licensing agreements to evaluate royalty obligations and assess financial compliance.
- Analyze royalty statements and large datasets using Excel and other analytical tools to verify payment accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and client stakeholders to gather documentation and conduct interviews.
- Support the preparation of audit reports, summaries of findings, and supporting documentation used in settlement discussions.
Requirements
- Minimum 4–6 years of relevant experience for Senior Associate candidates, and 6–8+ years for Manager-level candidates in audit, accounting, finance, or consulting.
- Direct exposure to royalty audits, royalty accounting, or financial analysis within the music or entertainment industry is highly desirable.
- Prior experience in a Big Four firm or consulting environment is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of music royalty structures and audit practices.
- Experience working with record label royalty statements, music publishing income, or digital streaming revenue data is highly advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and analysis of large datasets.
