Senior Software Engineer – Connect Platform

Engineering Manager

• Build, lead, and grow a high-performing engineering organization responsible for one of Confluent's most critical services
• Lead the technical strategy to scale our metrics infrastructure to handle 10x data volume over the next 2 years
• Drive the roadmap for new metrics datasets, query capabilities, and integration patterns

Senior Engineering Manager – Metrics Platform

Engineer

• Develop and maintain high-quality, well-documented guides for various setup, performance tuning, scaling needs that customers often have.
• Develop and maintain high-quality, well-documented code examples that illustrate the usage of Confluent Cloud with AI and ML tools such as Hugging Face, OpenAI, Mistral, RAG, etc.
• Create engaging and informative technical articles, tutorials, and how-to guides that cater to various levels of expertise.
• Host webinars and live coding sessions to walk through code examples and demonstrate Confluent Cloud's capabilities in real-time.
• Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to stay updated on Confluent Cloud features and best practices.
• Provide technical support and guidance to users and prospects, helping them overcome challenges and successfully implement Confluent Cloud solutions.
• Participate in community forums and social media platforms to share knowledge and engage with the Confluent community.

Cloud Enablement Engineer

Security Engineer

• Mentor other Security Program Managers on execution and delivery, both from a security subject matter expert perspective as well as program management
• Work with stakeholders to drive critical security initiatives for the company
• Manage and scale security programs by defining milestones and success criteria, resource allocation, and successful on-time delivery
• Proactively identify and resolve roadblocks/challenges affecting projects
• Drive automation and process improvements for security programs

• Build and lead a high-performing Applied AI engineering team, establishing the engineering culture, standards, and delivery practices
• Design and ship a portfolio of agent builder capabilities spanning no-code tooling through high-complexity programmatic frameworks, enabling both technical and non-technical teams to deploy agents on a shared, governed platform
• Partner with ACE (AI Center of Enablement) functional leads and business stakeholders across Sales, Support, Product, Marketing, Finance, and Legal to translate workflow acceleration goals into platform requirements, ensuring infrastructure keeps pace with deployment demand
• Establish and own the risk and reliability posture for all agent workloads — including runtime security enforcement, escalation thresholds, override monitoring, and compliance controls

Director, Engineering – Applied AI

Business Operations

• Serve as the senior IT partner to the GTM, Finance, Legal, and Customer Support organizations, building trusted relationships with VP and C-suite stakeholders across each function
• Lead a structured business engagement model — including roadmap reviews, prioritization forums, and executive business reviews — that gives stakeholders visibility and confidence in systems delivery
• Translate complex and often competing business requirements into clear systems strategies, ensuring alignment between business objectives and technology investments
• Act as an escalation point and decision-maker when business priorities conflict, balancing urgency, risk, and long-term platform health
• Represent the Business Systems function in cross-functional planning cycles, including annual and quarterly business planning
• Own and maintain a consolidated systems roadmap across all supported business functions, ensuring initiatives are sequenced, resourced, and aligned to company priorities
• Drive end-to-end delivery accountability across your team — from requirements through configuration, testing, change management, and hypercare
• Establish and enforce delivery standards, including project intake, prioritization criteria, change control, and post-deployment review processes
• Partner with the Architecture team to ensure platform decisions are scalable, integration-sound, and aligned to the long-term technical direction of the enterprise
• Manage vendor relationships for core platforms (Salesforce, NetSuite, Marketo, Metronome), including contract renewals, roadmap alignment, and escalation management
• Ensure business systems processes and controls meet the requirements of a public company, including SOX compliance, audit readiness, and segregation of duties across financial systems
• Partner with Internal Audit, Legal, and Finance to support control documentation, testing cycles, and remediation efforts as needed
• Champion a culture of change management discipline — ensuring system changes are properly documented, tested, and communicated before deployment to production environments
• Lead, develop, and retain a team of five direct reports including Business Systems Analysts aligned to GTM, Finance, Legal, and Customer Support, and an Architecture team
• Build a high-performing BSA organization by establishing clear role expectations, career frameworks, and development plans

• Build and enhance the open source libraries around Kafka using low level Kafka protocol.

• Own the Flink Cloud Platform roadmap: Define and drive the product strategy and roadmap for enterprise-grade Flink capabilities including data-at-rest encryption (BYOK), client-side field-level encryption, managed disaster recovery, access controls, and audit logging notably.
• Own the Flink Cloud Platform roadmap: Drive platform-level capabilities such as Flink compute pool management, workspace catalog design, and integration with Confluent Cloud's broader infrastructure (networking, identity, encryption platforms)
• Drive enterprise customer adoption: Partner closely with field teams and strategic customers (including top-tier financial services and regulated industries) to understand requirements, close product gaps, and accelerate enterprise Flink adoption
