About the role
- Performs tasks based on established procedures and works autonomously within established procedures.
- Applies accounting and systems understanding to solve unusual accounting issues.
- Applies understanding of accounting principles to properly record financial and/or regulatory transactions.
- Processes reconciliations and validates journal entries; manages payment runs.
- Maintains operational data updated in standard templates and owns process documentation.
- Maintains first-level ownership of Error Data banks and provides input for corrective action.
- Provides training to new team members and conducts refresher training; serves as team lead and allocates work.
- Analyzes and summarizes information to present as required; suggests improvements to processes and methods.
- Manages small groups to ensure completion of tasks and complies with all policies and standards.
Requirements
- Requires vocational training, certifications, licensures, or equivalent experience.
- Advanced and specialized expertise in a range of analytical or operational processes.
- Technical expertise in specific accounting areas and systems.
- Understanding of accounting principles and ability to record financial and regulatory transactions.
- Experience processing reconciliations and validating journal entries.
- Ability to provide training and subject matter guidance to junior team members.
- Leadership experience coordinating or managing small teams (team lead responsibilities).
- Problem-solving skills to provide solutions for atypical problems with little or no precedent.
- Ability to maintain process documents and error data banks and suggest corrective actions.
