Plan and implement programs to meet individual needs and provide care consistent with the Scope of Practice Standards and Code of Ethics of the American Occupational Therapy Association and the California Board of Occupational Therapy.
Prioritize child-led therapy, creating a safe therapeutic environment for children to learn, play, and grow.
Adapt therapy plans quickly to accommodate dynamic needs and maximize therapeutic benefit of sessions.
Develop innovative solutions and utilize available resources to overcome challenges.
Understand and prioritize age-based and neurodivergent differences in treatment approaches.
Advocate for patient rights and communicate effectively with families and providers.
Work independently with minimal supervision while managing time, caseloads, and treatment planning effectively.
Create engaging, fun therapy sessions and educate patients and their families through excellent verbal and written communication.
Requirements
Minimum: Graduation from an accredited school of Physical Therapy (Master’s Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree with equivalent experience).
Minimum: License applicant for state of California (currently holds out-of-state license) or licensed as a Physical Therapist in the State of California.
American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certified.
Outpatient Therapy treating CCS clients: CCS paneling within 6 months.
Preferred: Valid CA Driver’s License.
Minimum: Knowledge of physical therapy techniques and modalities.
Knowledge of body mechanics, including procedure for handling and moving patients.
Basic computer skills for chart review and documentation in electronic medical record.
Pediatric Clinical Expertise: Over one year of experience working with pediatric clients, ranging from ages 1 to 18.
