About the role

  • Promote, sell, and deliver after-sales service of a full line of agricultural equipment products
  • Conduct customer needs assessments, offer product solutions, prepare quotes, negotiate pricing, and close sales
  • Identify new business opportunities and follow up on leads within assigned territory or customer base
  • Deliver crop input, feed, fuel, and lubricant leads to appropriate colleagues
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, contractors, and agribusiness clients
  • Attend trade shows, demonstrations, and community events to promote equipment and services
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop marketing campaigns or promotions
  • Maintain accurate records of sales calls, customer interactions, and equipment orders in the CSM system
  • Support location operations during peak seasons and follow Asset Protection and Safety Management systems
  • Report to the Crop Inputs Team Leader and work collaboratively with the ag sales team to deliver integrated farm solutions

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Post-secondary education in agriculture, business, or sales or PAg designation considered an asset
  • 2 years of sales experience in agriculture and equipment
  • Working knowledge of agricultural equipment and farming practices
  • Mechanically inclined with ability to understand technical aspects of machinery and equipment
  • Passion for retail sales and the agricultural industry
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Customer Service Management (CSM) systems
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently
  • Honest, trustworthy, results-oriented, with strong negotiation and closing abilities
  • Effective planner with superb time management skills
  • Ability to lift 50lbs as needed and perform mix of office work and outdoor farm visits
  • Willing to work additional hours during seasonal peaks
  • Willing and able to achieve WHMIS and TDG certifications
  • Valid driver’s license (Class 5 minimum) required; Class 1A is an asset
