About the role
- Employment Law Partner will serve as a senior member of our Emerging Practices group, handling complex matters while providing management, mentoring, and strategic oversight within the practice area
- Handle complex employer-side employment litigation matters in Massachusetts state and federal courts, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, wage and hour, and restrictive covenant disputes
- Serve as lead or first-chair counsel in arbitrations, mediations, administrative proceedings, and court matters
- Develop and execute litigation strategies, oversee discovery, motion practice, dispositive briefing, and trial preparation
- Provide proactive, practical employment counseling to employers on compliance with Massachusetts and federal employment laws
- Draft, review, and negotiate employment agreements, executive compensation arrangements, restrictive covenants, separation agreements, and related documents
- Generate revenue ethically by delivering appropriate legal services while identifying opportunities to add value through holistic and forward-looking counsel
- Build and sustain strong client relationships through exceptional service, responsiveness, and adherence to firm CRM and supervisory expectations
- Mentor, coach, and supervise associates, senior counsel, and paralegals, providing regular feedback on work product and professional development
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active bar membership in Massachusetts (additional jurisdictions a plus), in good standing
- Minimum of 7–8+ years of relevant employment law experience, with a strong emphasis on employer-side litigation and counseling
- Portable book of business of at least $500,000
- Demonstrated success representing employers in complex employment litigation and advisory matters
- At least five (5) years of successful client management experience
- Exceptional professionalism, leadership presence, and judgment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build trust internally and externally
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative firm environment
- Proven ability to manage, delegate, and develop meaningful work for attorneys and paralegals
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; experience with Filevine or similar document management systems preferred
- Demonstrated commitment to legal and ethical compliance, firm policies, and continued personal and professional development.
