About the role
- Communicate information on shipments requiring special handling
- Advise customers and sales personnel of current shipment statuses
- Respond to customer requests regarding shipment status and charges
- Coordinate with sales and customers to develop specific operating procedures
- Follow-up on sales leads from shipment logs and quotes
- Assist in customer service and preparation of quotes
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Less than one year related experience
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and job specific software applications
- Accurate typing skills and/or data entry skills
- Ability to perform basic math calculations using U.S. currency, weight, volume and distance measurements
- Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine correspondence
