About the role

  • Oversee the contract/s and all employees in the growth and development of additional business opportunities with existing customers.
  • Ensure ongoing customer service and customer relations are maintained by overseeing the contract’s daily operations based on the needs of the customer.
  • Responsible for the attainment of profit objectives of contracts.
  • Ensure safety, maintain quality, establish and monitor cost control programs.
  • Lead and foster creative problem solving, develop positive and professional relationships with customer and within contracts.
  • Provide leadership in coaching, mentoring, personnel selection, professional development.
  • Oversee operations management within the company guidelines.
  • Oversee operations schedule and staff the contract in anticipation of customer needs.
  • Oversee the staffing needs of the Contract to assure sufficient labor to meet the customer’s requirements as well as control labor costs.
  • Provide support and guidance to hiring manager.
  • Manage the contract staff to assure continued quality service by writing procedures, testing, hiring and training managerial and operational personnel.
  • Maintain corporate productivity and quality award programs to recognize outstanding performance.
  • Encourage use of Performance Management system in all facets of the Contract operation.
  • Maintain the Contracts quality performance objectives through the continuous improvement processes.
  • Train managers and other personnel strategically in all areas that will help them achieve the contract goals and objectives and satisfy the customer.
  • Establish ongoing programs to ensure continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, 3PL or transportation
  • 5 to 10 years senior management experience in a transportation/ industrial environment
  • Demonstrated excellent leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to train, motivate, coach and counsel others
  • Excellent oral communication and customer relations skills
  • Creative and possess the ability to think strategically outside the box
  • Computer literate
  • Excellent organizational and financial management skills
  • Problem solving, conflict resolution, decision-making and planning /organizing skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and excellent time management skills.
