About the role

- About Cloudflare Billing Engineering: builds and maintains billing, payments, usage metering, aggregation, invoicing and revenue recognition.
- You’ll lead a team of engineers building and maintaining Cloudflare’s billing and payments infrastructure, rebuild the platform, and drive technical excellence.
- You will mentor a high-performing team, collaborate with product, engineering, finance, data science, operations and support to align technical decisions with business objectives.
- This role includes opportunities to impact Cloudflare’s growth and product ecosystem.
Requirements
- Experience leading a team or multiple teams of senior and staff engineers.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, driving alignment, and clearly creating and communicating technical direction for large cross-company efforts.
- Comfortable leading and hiring a team that builds the backend systems and frontend parts of the product.
- Excel at planning, creating teams and overseeing execution to meet commitments and deliver with predictability.
- Comfortable building developer-loved APIs that scale.
- Demonstrate a track record of leading a team including hiring, onboarding, and professional development.
- You inspire your team to reach higher.
- You’re as good as explaining “why” as you are “how”.
- Experience implementing tools, process, internal instrumentation, methodologies and resolving blockages.
- Comfortable managing teams/projections with tight deadlines and short release cycles.
- Bonus Points: Experience building massive distributed systems.
- Bonus Points: Experience leading teams working on areas of financial infrastructure, payments, billing, and data infrastructure.
