Manage and lead engineering team by identifying and developing required engineering competencies to achieve company OKRs
Drive teams to create unit and functional tests, contributing to our commitment to Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
Build and retain high performing inclusive teams through strong leadership and people development.
Develop future leaders and succession plans for key roles through assigning of regularly occurring responsibilities, mentoring and strategic delegation.
Manage, coach and mentor direct reports to foster skill development, knowledge sharing, and technical growth.
Ensure regular and ongoing talent development discussions and career planning meetings with team members to provide constructive feedback and support their growth
Continuously improve business processes and practices related to engineering functions
Collaborate closely with Product Management aligning teams to optimize performance to deliver prioritized Features
Develop, create and own the delivery of appropriate onboarding and training materials to ensure successful assimilation with the team and division.
Design, train and implement engineering best practices.
Engage in understanding market trends by independent learning and research.
Propose, prototype and champion technologies and processes that continuously help Skillable improve our SDLC
Assure compliance with all standards, policies, practices, etc.
Foster innovation by actively exploring and adopting new cutting-edge technologies
Partner with Security and Operations team to shift left secure coding practices and tooling
Support and promote the company values through positive interactions with both internal and external partners and customers on a regular basis.
Other strategic business initiatives or cross-functional project involvement as required.
Requirements
Bachelors' degree in a related field such computer science, or equivalent years of professional and related experience.
10+ years working on large scale software product engineering delivering in a complex environment
2+ years of professional software management experience managing, mentoring and coaching highly effective teams.
Successful Engineering and deployment of large-scale web products in an agile product development environment
Proven Experience mentoring and developing team members.
Confidence operating in an influential role, working collaboratively in cross-functional teams and contributing to company-wide initiatives.
Proven ability to define short and long strategy for scalability, operational efficiency and to ultimately drive execution.
Proven ability to communicate effectively to various audiences/levels including leadership, both internally and externally and through various mediums.
Ability to present and convey material both formally and informally to all levels of an organization.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage workload and meet project deadlines.
High-level of confidence, integrity and professional polish and presence.
Strong Microsoft suite experience, including teams or similar web conferencing and internal communication software experience preferred.
Naturally inquisitive with a desire to solve problems and dig into detailed analysis.
Experience working in a fully remote team is preferred, but not required.
Thorough understanding of business operations, basic compliance and processes.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
