About the role
- Float to multiple Cleveland Clinic South Region locations (including Medina and Mercy Hospitals) to support critical staffing needs.
- Provide assessment, treatment, care and evaluation for patients with respiratory insufficiencies across geriatric, adult, pediatric (and neonatal) populations.
- Perform advanced respiratory care modalities, administer medications and treatments, and perform blood gas puncture and analysis.
- Direct respiratory caregivers and implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Assess patients for appropriate type and frequency of treatment; monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
- Educate patients and families about illness and community support resources.
- Work rotating nights, evenings and day shifts with rotating weekend and holiday requirements.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree and graduate of a CoARC accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Ohio Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) Board Licensure.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA).
- Minimum 1 year experience in critical care.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Care.
- Preferred: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (NPS) certification.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Normal hearing and vision or corrected to normal range.
- Ability to sit, stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to exert medium work (20 to 50 pounds occasionally).
