About the role
- Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services to hospitalized patients in various healthcare settings.
- Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physicians of abnormal findings.
- Perform telephone triage and call rotations.
- Perform nursing procedures and administer treatments and medications.
- Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team.
- Coordinate ongoing care, identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning.
- Evaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care.
- Educate patients and families.
- Cover other nursing roles in the department and/or hospitals.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification within six months of hire
- One year of recent experience as an RN OR Licensed RN with at least two years of LPN experience within the same Cleveland Clinic procedural department
- Demonstrated clinical competence
- Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) certification must be obtained within five (5) years of hire
- Two years of recent experience as an RN (preferred)
- Demonstrated proficiency in cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation (preferred)
- IV skills (preferred)
