Collaborate with key stakeholders, including application owners, project managers, and Senior Platform Engineers, to align platform and technical strategies with the organization's business vision and objectives.
Ensure stability, integrity, and optimal performance of enterprise server, storage, and data center infrastructure systems.
Proactively monitor, maintain, and optimize all hardware and operating systems.
Drive the seamless operation of critical IT infrastructure.
Responsible for the design, deployment, and oversight of the storage and backup environments for the enterprise.
Participate in proof-of-concept studies of new technologies that may position the enterprise infrastructure platforms to grow and modernize in alignment with enterprise strategic plans.
Develop working relationships with server, storage, cloud and network software and hardware vendors, work groups and installation teams.
Create and maintain infrastructure platform configuration standards, SOPs and guidelines according to industry and vendor best practices.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology and five years of experience in information systems design, configuration and management OR nine years of experience 7 years of enterprise level experience in a technical position responsible for implementing, configuring and managing enterprise server , storage or infrastructure environments.
2 years of enterprise level experience in information systems design, including leading design implementations, required .
For Information Technology Division caregivers, ITIL Foundations certification is required within 6 months of the position start date.
Must have the ability to work well with others and be able to express ideas and concepts clearly.
Technical vendor hardware/software (Microsoft, Red Hat, Cisco, NetApp, Dell/EMC, etc.) certifications preferred.
Experience implementing and managing solutions in various cloud vendors is preferred .
5+ years enterprise storage engineering/architecture/administration experience.
5+ years enterprise experience with storage monitoring, tuning and capacity forecasting.
Significant architectural level experience with NetApp SAN and NAS storage solutions and Cisco MDS Fabric switches.
Significant architectural level experience with Dell EMC backup solutions preferred.
Experience with the PowerProtect Cyber Recovery solution, including CyberSense Vault Analytics software.
Ability to work with and provide direction to vendors and consultants.
Able to act as a subject matter expert for storage and backup in collaboration with business partners.
Experience designing and testing disaster recovery, cyber recovery and business continuity solutions.
Self-motivated, able to effectively work independently and on teams.
Experience creating and maintaining enterprise storage standards.
