About the role
- Design, analyze, build, and test mechanical, electrical, thermal, and plumbing systems for Grounded’s vehicle platform.
- Develop next-gen vehicle systems that push the limits of specialty vehicles.
- Create/manage complex CAD models and drawings in Siemens NX.
- Fabricate prototype and production parts using hands-on skills.
- Develop new manufacturing methods and source innovative materials.
- Write technical documentation and define requirements for diverse use cases.
- Lead design reviews and conduct data-driven trade studies.
- Mentor technicians and junior engineers in design/manufacturing best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Master’s preferred)
- 7+ years of professional mechanical design experience
- Demonstrated hands-on skills in building/fabricating hardware (professionally or as a hobby)
- 5+ years of Siemens NX experience (preferred)
- Experience with composites, fiberglass, and/or welded structures (preferred)
- Background in manufacturing environments (preferred)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills (preferred)
