About the role
- Provides overall direction to Communicable Diseases and Infection Control program teams
- Works closely with the Ontario Ministry of Health to support guidelines
- Oversees and ensures compliance with public health standards
- Develops and implements policies for the program
- Monitors community health indicators and emerging issues
Requirements
- Extensive management experience in the public health sector
- Successful performance in strategic planning and implementing programs
- Considerable experience managing, leading, coaching a diverse team
- Considerable successful experience leading and implementing change
- Experience in infection prevention and control
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) or working towards certification
- Post-secondary education in public health, public administration or a relevant discipline
- Proficiency in infectious disease/outbreak control responses
