Lead fire prevention and life-safety certification activities in coordination with the builder and Ottawa Fire Services.
Coordinate network safety and the required operational deliverables prior to the launch/commissioning of the Confederation Line West Extension project — Stage 2 of the light rail transit (LRT).
Ensure compliance with fire prevention and life-safety requirements and that operational requirements are met.
Coordinate the review of project risk registers, schedules and work reports, and prepare responses related to contractual correspondence.

Requirements

Degree equivalent to a four-year program in engineering or applied sciences, or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in planning, design and construction of municipal infrastructure, including at least 3 years of project management experience.
Technical planning, design and operations related to the construction and rehabilitation of municipal structures, infrastructure and public utilities.
Knowledge of applicable federal and provincial engineering laws, regulations, standards and codes, and municipal bylaws related to environmental assessments, buildings, fire safety, health and safety, and construction.
Methods for conducting and analyzing environmental impact studies.
Principles of project management, including cost control and containment, and reporting.
Software applications in a technical environment for municipal project design and management: spreadsheets, word processing, email, intranet and Internet.
Relevant health and safety legislation, awareness of actual or potential workplace hazards and the measures required to ensure staff health and safety, in accordance with applicable laws as well as municipal policies and procedures.
