About the role
- Managing the operation and maintenance of the City of Ottawa’s water distribution system
- Serving as the unit’s engineering specialist
- Providing project management, oversight and design engineering support for various projects and contracts
- Maintaining, reviewing and providing documentation, training and technical support for water distribution staff
- Preparing reports and documents to meet Branch requirements
- Supervising staff and managing assigned projects
Requirements
- Completion of 4 year university degree in Engineering (Environmental, Chemical, Civil or Mechanical) or related field
- Minimum of 7 years of related experience in a public works or utility environment with progressive practical experience in water distribution system operation and maintenance, technical support, or water system design
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
- Must obtain and maintain Ontario MOE Class 3 Drinking Water Distribution Operator Certificate within the timeframe determined by the employer
