About the role
- Assist in the clearance, settlement and investigation of fixed income securities
- Handle escalations for settlement issues and demonstrate strong break/fail resolution skills
- Utilize industry and business knowledge to conduct analyses to handle complex deals and monitor day-to-day processing
- Lead enhancements or defect fixes (business case development, requirements gathering, and UAT)
- Work closely with manager to execute strategic initiatives
- Train, mentor, and guide junior staff
- Work with internal and external clients to resolve issues in a timely fashion
- Identify inefficiencies and lead improvements in processing productivity and risk mitigation
- Maintain and improve team metrics by preventing escalations, reducing breaks/age, and improving client experience
- Contribute to creation of customized reporting for management
- Support implementation of securities processing improvements and assist with identifying policy gaps
- Develop and use knowledge of securities and processing practices and standards
- Appropriately assess risk when making business decisions and escalate/manage control issues with transparency
Requirements
- Demonstrated leadership roles and ability to influence others
- Strong analytical, problem solving and PC skills (especially Excel)
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to adapt to changing needs of internal and external clients
- Teamwork and ability to build and maintain relationships within team and other internal Citi teams
- Knowledge of securities, processing practices and standards
- Ability to appropriately assess risk and drive compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations
