About the role

  • provide legal counsel on all matters pertaining to technology and operations
  • support strategic initiatives and product/service launches
  • advise business management/leadership on legal matters related to vendor procurement and commercial transactions
  • evaluate Technology business decisions alongside industry standards
  • collaborate across internal lines of business and control/support functions
  • participate in planning and development initiatives
  • identify, evaluate, and manage legal risks and regulatory compliance

Requirements

  • 15+ years PQE, preferably in practice or in-house at a global or regional bank / financial institution or Information Technology company
  • substantial experience with general commercial/contractual/transactional work essential
  • knowledge and understanding of relevant laws, regulations (including but not limited to Outsourcing, Data Privacy, Banking Secrecy, Operational Resilience, Technology Risk Management, Cybersecurity) and practices as well as industry trends that impact Citi’s Technology businesses and its operations are essential
  • ability to work independently and with initiative on complex transactions, with a focus on applicable Asia Pac legal and regulatory requirements
  • effective communication and negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain trusted relationships
  • strong time and project management skills - ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • bar license in good standing to practice law
