About the role
- Drive substantial sourcing value thru the management of substantial, ongoing sourcing projects (Book of Work).
- Potential to manage a team of sourcing analysts to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions) as well as act as backup Sourcing Group Manager when necessary
- As needed, lead cross functional team in developing/executing sourcing, supplier management strategies, and complex contract negotiations
- Support management of global category team members, and interface with Citi business leaders, and oversee cross regional projects
- Implement strategic direction with suppliers, negotiate contracts/master agreements, and model total cost of ownership as well as build strategic supplier relationships leveraging supplier involvement and integrating the supply chain
- Drive diversity spend within commodity category, direct the global commodity/sourcing strategies in assistance of strategic initiatives
- Ensure global leads liaison with business representatives, team members, category leaders, and procurement managers in defining the specifications and sourcing strategies
- Manage deliverables to an established timeline, service delivery level and savings target
- Establish procurement sourcing global standards and best practices, recommend new work procedures, and develop new procurement processes, supervise the sourcing process and prioritize sourcing programs
- Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
- Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
- Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.
- Ability to manage teams.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
Requirements
- 6-10 years of relevant experience
- Certified Purchase Professional such as CPM or CIPS preferred
- Experience in leading strategic sourcing programs
- Experience within a large, multi-national organization
- Working knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and eProcurement tools (e.g. Oracle, Procure-to-Pay, eAuction, eRFX)
- Demonstrated strategic sourcing/procurement skills
- Demonstrated stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
