About the role
- Designing and programming microcontroller circuits that will be integrated into 3D printed cases and silicone medical trainers
- Collaborating with a team of design engineers, 3D printing specialists, medical artists, research scientists, and clinical investigators
- Developing custom electromechanical devices to meet varied requests from the hospital and research facilities
- Overcoming technical difficulties and being part of a team that’s dedicated to improving patient outcomes
- Understanding, adhering to and modeling Core Standards defined organizationally and in the department/unit
Requirements
- Must be currently enrolled in a degree granting college program
- Microcontroller programming: Arduino-based coding (Arduino IDE, Python, etc.)
- Raspberry Pi and MATLAB programming (coding a plus)
- DC circuit design at the component level and ability to assemble/solder
- Electronic component integration into custom cases/hardware
- Experience with hand tools
- General building skills
- Safety-minded
- 3D printing experience
- STEM program involvement
- Willingness to troubleshoot technical issues and find solutions
- A love for sci-fi is a plus, but curiosity and creativity are what matter most
