About the role

  • Designing and programming microcontroller circuits that will be integrated into 3D printed cases and silicone medical trainers
  • Collaborating with a team of design engineers, 3D printing specialists, medical artists, research scientists, and clinical investigators
  • Developing custom electromechanical devices to meet varied requests from the hospital and research facilities
  • Overcoming technical difficulties and being part of a team that’s dedicated to improving patient outcomes
  • Understanding, adhering to and modeling Core Standards defined organizationally and in the department/unit

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in a degree granting college program
  • Microcontroller programming: Arduino-based coding (Arduino IDE, Python, etc.)
  • Raspberry Pi and MATLAB programming (coding a plus)
  • DC circuit design at the component level and ability to assemble/solder
  • Electronic component integration into custom cases/hardware
  • Experience with hand tools
  • General building skills
  • Safety-minded
  • 3D printing experience
  • STEM program involvement
  • Willingness to troubleshoot technical issues and find solutions
  • A love for sci-fi is a plus, but curiosity and creativity are what matter most
