About the role

  • Provide technical leadership of assigned areas to ensure departmental patient care goals are met
  • Develop goals, standards, policies, procedures and practices
  • Implement and monitor indicators of quality and laboratory success metrics
  • Contributes to the effective management of the clinical laboratories
  • Supports innovation through new test development and implementation of new testing platforms
  • Maintain personal development plan and provide development and coaching for supervisors and other members of the team
  • Collaborate in the preparation, coordination, and evaluation of the annual fiscal operating budget and capital equipment budget
  • Manage the quality of testing processes within the laboratory section through audits and monitors indicative of high-quality processes and systems
  • Provide departmental operational leadership to direct and indirect staff members in support of a CAP certified laboratory.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in laboratory science or related field (Chemical or Biological Science)
  • 5+ years technical experience in a related laboratory setting
  • Leadership or management experience
  • Qualified by CLIA/CAP standards, minimally as a general supervisor
  • Preferred: Certification by national laboratory accrediting agency
