About the role
- Provide technical leadership of assigned areas to ensure departmental patient care goals are met
- Develop goals, standards, policies, procedures and practices
- Implement and monitor indicators of quality and laboratory success metrics
- Contributes to the effective management of the clinical laboratories
- Supports innovation through new test development and implementation of new testing platforms
- Maintain personal development plan and provide development and coaching for supervisors and other members of the team
- Collaborate in the preparation, coordination, and evaluation of the annual fiscal operating budget and capital equipment budget
- Manage the quality of testing processes within the laboratory section through audits and monitors indicative of high-quality processes and systems
- Provide departmental operational leadership to direct and indirect staff members in support of a CAP certified laboratory.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in laboratory science or related field (Chemical or Biological Science)
- 5+ years technical experience in a related laboratory setting
- Leadership or management experience
- Qualified by CLIA/CAP standards, minimally as a general supervisor
- Preferred: Certification by national laboratory accrediting agency
