About the role

  • Manage complex, high risk and sensitive workplace issues and conflicts
  • Assist business and HR partners to identify creative solution-based approaches to enterprise projects
  • Ensure corporate governance is applied by ensuring compliance with CIBC policies and regulations
  • Support managers and employees in successful resolution of workplace issues and conflicts
  • Investigate and respond to employee relations matters escalated to executive leaders
  • Investigate, and respond to pre-litigation files with internal counsel as required

Requirements

  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP)
  • At least five years of experience in Employee Relations, Human Resources, or Legal roles
  • Master of Industrial Relations (MIR), Law Degree (LLB/JD), or similar qualifications (considered an asset)
  • Experience in performance management, discipline and dismissal, human rights, complex attendance management and disability management issues
  • Fluent in French and English to support business operations outside of Quebec, Canada.
