About the role

Lead a team of DevOps and Security Engineers focused on building systems to support ChowNow's strategies and scale
Shape product, software architecture, development processes, and engineering culture
Launch reliable and stable products and support initiatives to continuously improve user experience
Motivate, mentor, and provide constructive feedback and growth opportunities to team members
Develop technology roadmaps emphasizing infrastructure as code, security, and release engineering
Coach team on delivering features and capabilities for production applications
Review product requirements and design documents, perform code reviews, and weigh in on implementation choices
Collaborate with Engineering Leadership, Product, and Design; support cross-functional teams for consistent engineering practices
Drive compliance efforts (e.g., PCI-DSS, SOC2) and participate in incident response and threat detection efforts
Report to the Chief Technology & Product Officer and manage a team of approximately 5 engineers

At least 7 years of experience in DevOps and cloud infrastructure engineering
At least 3 to 5 years in an engineering manager position, including building, mentoring, and leading high-performing teams
Deep, hands-on expertise with building and managing AWS or GCP based cloud-native infrastructures to run micro-services based, mission-critical SaaS applications
Proficiency with Infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible, or AWS CloudFormation
Strong knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes, and managing service mesh such as Linkerd or Istio
Experience with Observability/APM tools such as DataDog or equivalent
Experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Jenkins
Experience integrating security practices throughout the lifecycle
Experience driving towards and maintaining compliance such as PCI-DSS, SOC2
Understanding of cloud data warehouses; Snowflake is a plus
Experience in MLOps is a plus
Experience with incident response planning, threat detection, and forensics within cloud environments
Passion for team building and a track record of recruiting, onboarding and fostering high-performing engineering teams
Strong emphasis on quality, rapid iteration, experimentation, and learning from failures
Thoughtful mentor and leader who supports team members
